Best Halo Halo in Town -- Razon's of Guagua, Pampanga!

Razon -08 .jpg
Razon's Halo Halo (P60). If you are a razon virgin, then you're missing on one of the best halo halo in town!

How can a simple mix of sun-ripened banana (saging na saba), shredded macapuno, and leche plan with dayap rind taste so good?! It is as if they are blended into perfection that their sweetness does not overpower one another and the its taste is not boringly sweet. There is something with the mix of the ingredients, milk, and shaved ice that makes this the best halo-halo in town. Indeed, it is simple but excellent in taste!

I'm glad that they opened a small resto in Mall of Asia in the South side of the Main Mall. This is always a good choice for a merienda when you are in MOA. Check out this short post on Razon's in Mall of Asia.

Razon -02 .jpg
You have to order and pay in the counter as you can see above. They only have a simple menu composed of filipino xxx-silog dishes.

Razon -05 .jpg
The ambiance is also simple and it is like a fast food chain setup.

Razon -06 .jpg
Dinuguan at Puto (P85). If you are a dinuguan and puto fan, you will never go wrong with this order.

Razon -07 .jpg
Pancit Luglog (P60). This is one of their best seller because of its natural blend of red sauce with baby shrimps, egg slices, and topped all over with finely crumbled chicharon. I think the secret is in the noodle.

Razon -01 .jpg
There a good reading on a short history of Razon's and a visual on a map of pampanga to show where Razon's started.

hmm....is it pansit luglog? more like palabok! isnt the original one so not like that one? :)

i like ur blogs they are informative and entertaining and the pictures are so vivid especially the pictures of ur MOA blog.
what type of camera did you use?
how can i make my own blogs? we r going to HK ON DEC. SO I WANT TO BLOG ALSO!!!!

there's also a razon's in ortigas - city golf plaza, julia vargas ave. near valle verde. used to hate halo-halo but razon's made me see the light!

hi guys, glad you like our halohalo. ahem, from pampanga po ako. sobrang nag branch out na ang Razon's, even in Robinson's Manila meron na :)

yep, another branch along jupiter st near gerry's...desert after a hearty meal at gerry's. i love the way the ice smoothly melts in your mouth unlike chowling's...

I tried the one facing Greenhills/Unimart. Despite the low prices, I did not appreciate the Pancit luglog, which did not have anything more than a couple of egg slices and ground chicharon.

The Halo-Halo was just too simple for me. I don't know...must be because I was spoilt with Iceberg's multi-colored and textured super bowl.

Oooh I LOVE Razon's halo-halo. And I don't like halo-halo. This is the only halo-halo where I do not take out the ice (I also like the original Digman's, but not enough to let the ice remain.)! I also like their pancit luglog, but, unlike you, I think it's the sauce that makes it delicious. : ) So glad you put so much love and effort in this blog. Very helpful, informative, and gives our local cuisine a boost. Keep it up, cuz-in-law!

I LOOVEEE Razon's Halo-halo..and I'm not a halo-halo person. Their pancit luglog is the only one of its kind that i eat. I never fail to get an order of each whenever I'm in a razon's branch. I agree with PAM when she said the secret is in the sauce. I always associated the native orange sauce of palabok and luglog with the fishy, malansa after-taste, but this is not the case with razon's luglog. They have a branch in the Araneta Center, and my friend said it's in the shopwise building.

Just want to know if your open for Franchising? Im just interested to open 1 branch near our area.

I like the razon's halo halo in Guagua better. The other branches that have sprouted along Metro Manila don't taste as good as the orginal in Guagua, Pampanga.

This halo-halo actually looks more like a milkshake, instead of the usual multi-colored mix of shiny items served with ice chips and beans. I might be willing to try this particular variation pictured above. I tend not be very adventurous when it comes to food, which was evident by my insistence on ordering sweet-and-sour pork time and time again during my stay in Dumaguete. It was the closest thing to one of my favorite American dishes...BBQ pork chops ;)

Good to see you discovered Razon's! We went to its Guagua location long before they opened in Metro Manila. Unfortunately, there was a death in the family so their resto was closed. However, we could see through the screen door that all the mourners were treated to their famous halo-halo. How's that for so close and yet so far? Anyway, I'm glad they ventured into Metro Manila. Love the palabok though I wish the serving size was bigger. The secret's really in the sauce. Both the palabok and the halo-halo are pefect examples that sometimes simpler is better. Some people may find both items kulang sa sahog, but they suit me just fine.

i agree to this!

hmm...i actually disagree, in my opinion, the halo-halo in dayrits (magallanes) is much better....although, i dont have anything against the halo-halo in razons, i just prefer dayrits' more

I've tasted Razon's here in Manila and I must say it's verrry different from the ones I had in Pampanga. I think the Razon's branches sprouting all over the metro is not part of the original Teresita Razon's outlets in Guagua and San Fernando, to begin with. Ope the owners of the better Razon's restos would take action in this false advertising of the halo-halo and palabok imitators. I'm sure Pampanguenos would understand my plight. :) Personally, the cafe we have around the city pales in comparison to the original Pampanga treats that I have grown to love.

More power to your blog, Anton!

I don't know about the many branches sprouting all over the Metro, but I do know that the first one in Metro Manila, which opened in the Robinson's Galleria food court, is run by the niece of the 3 sisters who own Razon's in Guagua. At the time, I asked her if she was thinking of opening more branches in Metro Manila and she seemed hesitant since she made the palabok sauce at her house in Valle Verde and was worried about maintaing quality if she opened in locations far from her home. Perhaps some of the other branches where standards are not so good are franchises? I know that franchises must ideally maintain the same standards as the original, but it's partly up to the parent company to monitor that such is the case. If you're talking about imitators, Mangan offered the "Guagua halo-halo" a few months before Razon's opened in Metro Manila. We used to think Mangan's version was great, but then, we had the Razon's halo-halo after which it was patterned and we knew the difference. Razon's wins hands-down, but a noble effort on Mangan's part. =)

tried halo halo at razon's, but its matamis tomy taste, another halo halo and palabok that ive tasted which by the way suited my taste buds is also in pampanga. Have you heard about halo halo sa corazon? At first I thought that its also the same as razon's, but the difference is instead of leche flan, they use carabao's milk, and they also have in their halo halo beans, macapuno, corn, and banana, i recommend also their palabok and dinuguan and puto.unfortunately, they have no branch in manila, so a lot of people wh wanted to taste their halo halo, they would have to visit angeles, pampanga. I do hope they will have a branch here in manila, hope you'll try it!

I love your pic of the halo-halo. I'm having cravings for them every week. It's really the best!

You're right - it's simple, clean, and delicious. Nothing beats this.

BTW they've also opened a branch in Alabang Town Center so more places to reach.

I used to troop to Robinson's Galleria to eat halo-halo, but I can just go to ATC to satisfy my craving.

YUM!

hi.. i just want to ask if you know anyone who can help me find a contact person of razons because my family is interested in putting up a franchise here in olongapo.. thanks! my contact no. is 09064200100

there's one in alabang Town center.. it's where i first tasted the ever-famous halo-halo. and i really liked it. simple lng. not the typical halo-halo n puro beans nman, kaong, etc. ang msarap sa razon's is that u are able to savor every scoop.. yumyum! for me lalong msarap kapag ung paubos na. mdyo tunay n ung ice tpos very creamy na.. im from batangas and dinadayo ko tlga ang alabang just to have halohalo. i also tried their dinuguan. mdyo oily nga lng pro it taste gud nman. but their pancit was kinda mtgas p ata... and tpid s egg.. :((

Razons halohalo and all their other products is a 100% GP.. meaning.. tubong lugaw.. raw mats are simplae and available all through out the year.. how could you buy a 60 pesos worth of halo halo (its not worth calling it halo halo nga e) with just a bean paste, banana, macapuno, milk...whoa... mas masarap pa nga mga nasa kalye.. Juan dela cruz magisip ka naman.. and you call this the best halo halo in town?? shame on you..

hi! nice blog... very informative esp if ur a foodie...

i love razon's. i've been to its other branches around pampanga and also those in the metro but i still think that the original Razon's in LM Subd in Guagua is still the best. yes, they're all razons and share the same recipe but you can still taste the difference of the original. i guess it depends on who is the one preparing the ingredients/food.

for the info of those who would want to franchise, i was told by a friend (who holds a franchise) that they only allow family members (as in the Razons) to franchise.

razon's will open a new branch in Urdaneta City tomorrow.:)

The halo-halo is superb.

franchises?
email me.

marami ako naririnig na masarap daw halo-halo nyo. pwede bng mag franchise nyan. pls let me know kung pwede at lahat ng info. thanks, lorie

I so agree with observations that the original is still the best. i have fond memories of the halohalo of the original branch, in LM subdivision (Guagua), and it's a shame to compare that with the ones in the metro. Tubong-lugaw is a polite way of saying it because the other restos simply bastardized the original recipe. The heirloom recipe/s should be guarded by this "very closed family" business.

i want to inquire about franchising razon restaurant, i am planning to open a business in manila area, please can you give details or contact number for the right person to talk to or just send email. thanks a lot

well razon's is ok but u should try alin banang's halo halo in san juan; try their ice cream halo halo

Hello ARA,

Razon's has two branches in Urdaneta City right? One in Nancayasan & one in San Vicente. Can I get the phone number for both branches?

Thanks,
tracymack

I love your halo-halo and also your pancit luglug...

The first time I tried this was in Razon SLEX 2 years ago. When my colleague told me that I better try their halo halo I just nod without expecting for a good taste because I see it at the next table. Theres nothing much mixed ingredients in that foodstuff that made me crave for. The typical halo halo I've tasted has more than 10 ingredients with some scoop of ice cream. I was just suprised how this Razon's halo-halo got the awesome savor inspite of very simple mix and without the scoop of ice cream just to make it tastier. Way miles away if compared to Chowking! Hope Razon could maintain the 60 petot price for long just to make it affordable for the masses like me.

Hi,

Pls. kindly email me the requirement for francising.
I,m Lhina Salvaor from Candaba, Pampanga but now were living near UST, i,m interesting to goin your family.

Thanks

Lhina

It is the best halo-halo in the philippines.pag umuwi kami ng pinas, di pwedeng di kami mag stop over sa manila just for razons halo2.pwede kc kaming via davao lang since from general santos kami.

The best Halo Halo for me is "Halo-Halo sa Corazon". You should check it out at their newest branch at the new City Central Bus Terminal in San Fernando along Olongapo-Gapan road.

As quoted from above:
Razons halohalo and all their other products is a 100% GP.. meaning.. tubong lugaw.. raw mats are simplae and available all through out the year.. how could you buy a 60 pesos worth of halo halo (its not worth calling it halo halo nga e) with just a bean paste, banana, macapuno, milk...whoa... mas masarap pa nga mga nasa kalye.. -------
Asked a friend in the food industry, and he said that for anything to be called halo-halo, it must have 1) ice, 2) milk, 3) 3 kinds of laman (fruit, legume, and processed food) and 4) toppings. Razon's does meet those requirements--it has minatamis na saba (fruit), white beans, and macapuno--for the 3 kinds of laman. One less and it'd be called a something-con-yelo.

And you don't have to resort to flaming--if you see it as expensive, then don't buy it. Simple as that. ;)

hey just wonderin!!!the lady on red is that pamela razon...kinda lame i know!!! but please reply!!!thankx

Hello. I know for a fact that Razon's restaurants are not for franchising. The person claiming to welcome investors are misleading people. It is in the agreement of Razon relatives that NO FRANCHISING take place. Razon's of Guagua branches sprouting all over Metro Manila are part of a corporation which was established and is run by Razon family members. In fact the person advertising franchising opportunities for Razon's is using a trademarked logo and therefore is in violation of the law. If you do decide to "franchise" with the group which user "aracfgarcia@yahoo.com" is associated with, ask for proper legal and notarized documents. Remember, they are a complete different entity from Razon's of Guagua and therefore please be cautious with your money. Email me with any questions.

regarding the above comment please email me at truth.prevail7@gmail.com for questions. Thanks

can you not take legal action against this group who is offering franchising agreement without any legal authority? im afraid many people would be victimized because of the popularity of the food offered by Razon's.

hello...im just want to know how and what are the requirements for franchising of razon restaurant.thank you for your respond and more power!

Again, Razon's restaurants are not for franchising! Thank you.

A pleasant day to all of you and to all the loyal patrons of RAZONS nationwide!!! Please allow me to make a very important and vital clarification on Razons and its business.

First, the person behind the username aracfgarcia@yahoo.com is a true blue blooded Razon. She is a genuine Razon by blood and descent and did not become Razon by mere affinity!

Second, she is not misleading nor deceiving people as you unjustly and prematurely accused. If you go back to her very first email it was expressed this way, “If you are interested in the business, you can call this number…” Nothing whatsoever was mentioned refranchising the business!!! There are different ways of opening the business but not via franchise!!! If you cannot grasp the concept, it’s your problem!!!

Third, the trademarked logo being used is legally officially registered with SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) with SEC registration # 200711196, now tell me, How can that be a violation of Law???

Fourth, All legal and notarized documents of this entity are complete, legally prepared and lawfully secured.

Fifth and lastly, whoever you are, your last statement was this: Razons restaurant is not for franchising, is that so? Then will you please explain this to all Razons loyal patrons
“It is Razons that has caught the fancy of the Metro Manila market having been successfully “franchised” in many commercial areas. Razons of Guagua only has three elements: Banana, White Beans and Leche Flan redolent of dayap.”
This statement in part was taken from a leading and a very reputable Philippine newspaper, issue date was April 10, 2008, Volume 23/ No. 122. I won’t reveal yet the name of the columnist as I don’t see the need for it. Please be informed that I am in possession of the original copy of this whole article.

Now, going back to you who’s using the username truthprevail7@gmail.com, who is now telling the truth??? And who is now misleading people?? And who is now franchising Razons???

AGAIN, RAZONS OF PAMPANGA IS A LEGAL CORPORATION AND IS LEGALLY SEC REGISTERED AND WE ARE THE ONLY ENTITY ALLOWED TO USE THIS TRADENAME AND LOGO. I AM THE VICEPRESIDENT OF THIS CORPORATION AND ITS DIRECTOR FOR OPERATIONS!!!

May this letter shed the brightest light on this issue once and for all, and may wisdom and sound judgment embrace everyone who read this. Thank you!

for any questions, you may email us at razonsofpampanga@yahoo.com. thank you!

Hello! Personally I fully agree with recent comments.

i read the last comment. if i'm not mistaken trademarked logos are filed with IPO, not SEC. please correct me truthbearer if i'm wrong but doesn't that mean if Razon's of Guagua is trademarked, then Razon's of Pampanga cannot be trademarked with IPO? And if you are using that "logo" or "tradename" then you would be violating something correct? please let me know....i'm interested in doing a joint venture with you

How can I have a franchise? Kindly send me the details? thank you.

hi!
I would like to where your main office is located?
Thanks!

I like the razon's halo halo in Guagua better. The other branches that have sprung up along Metro Manila don't taste as good as the orginal in Guagua, Pampanga. Nice post.

what makes a halo-halo special that tastes makes halo halo 'extremely' good is the mix of minatamis na saging na 'hinog na hinog' talaga melon halaya ay buko na sariwa 'hindi' de lata o de bote at syempre leche plan at other sahog but with first group i mentioned is the taste to beat anywhere in the world

hi, good day! i just really want to know if razons of guagua is really into franchising. i want to know becoz i'm interested in the business. if yes, can you please email me.

this is my email add

macdelacruz_08@yahoo.com

thanks and more power!

check out the the Philippine Daily Inquirer for Sunday, Sept 26. page 6. Razon's of Guagua doesn't franchise, dont do joint ventures and are going after those entities using something similar to their logo or tradename. I feel bad for those who invested in Razon's of Pampanga. Tsk. Money down the drain

sorry. it's sunday sept 28 business section page 6. public notice from Razons Food Corporation and their lawyers.

sorry again..haha. philippine star sept 28 business section page 6. public notice from Razons Food Corporation and their lawyers regarding their trademark and their plans to take legal action anyone who uses something similar to their logo or tradename. they are also letting potential investors know that they do not franchise or go into joint ventures.

Gud Day!

wow, after i had been tasted razons halo-halo and read a little about the resto history, i was intersted with the said resto. Last week we had been in MOA and tasted one of the pampanga's proud cuisine..and we love it. I was also amazed with their map posted inside the resto. Personally hnd p aq nka2punta ng pampanga kaya when i saw the map tlagang pinag-masdan ko un ng maaigi, parang gusto ko mkapunta dun just because my heart belongs there.

Ask q lng po, where i can find the sto.domingo in pampanga? Is it a town or a barangay? What city does it belong??? tnx's..

More Power..We love Razon's..
Advance Merry Xmas..

nagfranchise din ba kau?? lyk ko sana..

I don't agree that this is the best halo halo in town. Over priced with hardly anything in it. I suppose I was paying for the name. It was money ill spent.

i would like to know if the ice that was used for the halo-halo is mineral water or water from the faucet?

I'm not sure. One of their secrets. Maybe water from Guagua... really not
sure.

I have been to Razon two weeks ago. I discoverd that they way they cut the ice blocks is totally unsanitary. First, they drop the bare huge ice from the truck into the ground of the parking area. Then they drag the ice block into the pavement beside their building. That is where they cut the huge block ice into smaller ones probably to fit to their grinders. The ice was totally exposed to dirt. This is just like what the vendors of halohalo in the market do.

I caught their attention toward this matter and they said that the ice will be washed anyway. But that is beside the point. The ice surface is exposed to dirt and we do not know what microbes or germs from the dust, saliva, etc. could stick to the surface of the ice and imbed itself in between the water molecules. But even if we are not scientific about it, the fact is the ice blocks are exposed to dirt road. Yucks.

This must be the reason why their halohalo tastes good. My goodness. Government officials of Guagua, sanitary engineers, could you do anything regarding this matter?

Oh by the way, I have a proof. I took a photograph of the incident and i could give it upon request.

Hi Anton!!!! You should taste the DURIAN HALO HALO of GA-LOR FARMS in Kidapawan City in case you visit their place...it is so heavenlyyyy delicious @ P45.00 only. I have tasted all the famous halo halo in Manila and Davao, but GA-LOR's really the BESTTTTT!!!They also have that homemade durian pastillas and jam...still the best for me!Maybe their secret is that they don't scrimp on their ingredients.Their store is so nice too.I hope to be back there again soon.

How do you go to Kidapawan?

I agree! No Need to drive all the way to San Fernando to have a taste of Teresita R. Razo's Halo-halo and palabok. They have opened TERESITA's of San Fernando along Tomas Morato, QC (beside Bubble Tea).
Happy halo-halo eating! :)

Their Halo-Halo and Pancit LugLug now cost Php92.

Good day! I have tasted your delicious halo2 in Cebu City, it comes into my mind to ask query in your company. I'm willing to know your franchising regarding the famous halo-halo. I plan to have a business, would like to ask how much it cost to avail halo-halo franchising? Do it need a a big space? Just wanted also to know if you have an applicant for franchising here in Davao SM ecoland?
